Let me clear my throat.

Since I was a child, I have struggled with words. They get stuck in my throat and when they do squeeze out, I stumble to articulate them. I create to get out my thoughts and words, my dreams and desires, my loves and fears. Everything begins with an image. It could be from a dream, a distant memory, or simply a texture that intrigues me. I work through my pieces like memories: fragmented and nonlinear and challenging to convey. Their stories may change paths or fade into a new tale. I use layers of photographic images, text, shellac, paint, charcoal, oil pastels, wax, found objects, and stitching to build decaying and fantastical worlds that invite all to revisit their memories and dreams.
