Danielle’s creative journey began in Detroit in the 1990’s, where she was inspired by the city’s industrial decay and textures. Interweaving her fascination with dreams, memories, and childhood, she used layers and collage work to create haunting imagery via photography, mixed media, and experimental video and film. Her interest in the latter took her to Chicago, where she received an MFA in Film and Video from Columbia College Chicago and created several short films. After moving to Los Angeles in 2007, Danielle launched a career as a producer in television which inspired her to create her own miniature worlds in dioramas. The pandemic brought Danielle back to the Midwest, where she was able to create in the tactile world full time. Being in her old/new home Chicago rekindled her love of textures, collage, and the use of found objects to create dreamlike worlds that she invites all to explore.
